FEUCET: A Guide
Subtests: Math, English, Filipino, Science, General Information
Out of all the entrance tests I took, I found the FEUCET/FEUCAT to be the easiest.Â
MATH Theyâre going to provide scratch papers but if youâve paid attention to your math classes throughout high school, Iâm confident you can solve the problems in your head. Most of my batchmates went on and on about how they just doodled on the scratch papers because it was almost unnecessary. It is partly true. I remember one of the questions asking for the square root of x4Â . If you can answer that, along with your knowledge of the basic special products of polynomials, youâre good to go.
LANGUAGES (English and Filipino) This CET also has the easiest Language subtest. As long as you know the basic rules in subject verb agreement, as well as when to use your pang-abays rin and din, you wonât fail this subtest. Vocabulary words in the test arenât that deep, just use context clues (iirc, this isnât the type of test where they simply give a word, they give sentences that use the word). Thereâs reading comprehension, but itâs short compared to the other CETs.Â
SCIENCE Again, basics. If you paid attention to your high school science classes, this should come easy. Know your biology and earth sciences! The only question I remember from this part of the exam simply asked about what Nephorology deals with. Iâve (weirdly) never heard this term before, but I do know that Nephrons are functional units of our kidneys, so the answer was kidneys. Again, know your basic bio!
TL;DRÂ The entire test dealt with the basics - especially the math and languages parts. So know your high school Algebra, and your basic grammar rules (in both English and Filipino!). Oh and donât worry about the time pressure, thereâs ample time for you to answer everything carefully (Iâm pretty sure youâll even have time left to go back to your answers to double check when youâre done).
