#fest proposal

Hi all!

I've been wanting to create an HP Classical Music fest for ages. It will feature:

Classical music as prompt(s)

(Classical) Musicians/Listeners AU

AUs based on fandoms interpreted in classical msuic (opera, ballet, etc.)

Filk of / Wrock based on classical music

Classical-style original wrock XD

... basically, as long as the music features prominently in the creation, you're good for this fest!

The definition of classical will be very loose! Any origin, composer, instrumentation, time period etc. Folk, Musicals, film scores and other classical-adjacent formats are included.

If you're interested/know someone who's interested, please like this post and reblog! I probably won't get to this fest idea until in a year or so, but all the better for organising, eh?

aka Barbershop-related creation prompts

Hi!

Some of you might know that the Barbershop fever has caught up with me during the last few months. (Barbershop is a music style where popular songs are arranged in a very distinct a cappella four-voice format.)

Since my brain won't shut up about it to me, here's the next fannish event proposal from me:

"Tag-A-Week"

Basically, I (or more fest mods if anyone else wants to join me ;-) ) will give you a more-or-less random Barbershop tag (last few phrases of a song) every week and that tag and/or song will be the creating prompt for the week! Most likely, I'll type in a random number into the Goodtags app to see which tag that gives me - though tag suggestions are always very welcome!

I will try to provide sheet music and/or audio samples wherever possible.

All fandoms, ships, ratings and formats are welcome --- some random ideas being:

singing telegram-style filks or fanart

songfics or podfics featuring the tag, arrangement or song

creating your own version of a tag or song in fannish context

simply sing that tag in a quartet with yourself and/or your best (fannish) Barbershop buddies

decorating sheet music, ...

Your imagination is the only limit!

In a desperate bid to procrastinate exam revisions, and fully knowing my current fest (HP Kintsugi) is coming to an end, this is me looking for co-mods on a HP fest that I've planned: @hp-imagineventors-fair.

The HP (i)magineventors fair is hiring!

Have you ever wanted to help organise a (virtual) fair? Are you as excited as I am to meet our inventors (fest work creators), and to see what inventions and presentation formats they can come up with - to make magic in the Harry Potter universe safer, more interesting and/or more fun?

If yes, I'm looking for YOU!

The HP (i)magineventors fair is a virtual fair (a fest with a modified pitch/prompt-claim format[*]) showcasing original inventions based on magic in Harry Potter canon. The proposed run time is, depending on how further planning goes, beginning March or May 2026, and ending around September 2026.

I am currently hiring (looking for):

project managers (fest co-mods)

data wranglers (airtable experience very welcome!)

Qualifications:

Motivation for fest modding and magical inventions

Ship and let ship mentality

Previous experience in the field (fest mod experience) is NOT necessary

Salary: There is no monatary compensation. (However, you would have my eternal gratitude in helping me realise another of my brain children.)

[*] What I had in mind is to have two phases in this fest.

The first is the "pitching" phase, where every inventor or inventor team creates (in writing, as audio and/or with art) one or several "elevator pitches" (200-500 words or equivalent effort, based on a format that the mods will give out) as an extended prompt that is also a stand-alone mini-fanwork.
