So, we coined Feruvelic Attraction (link) but never explained it in detail or expanded on it in general. I might as well come around and make a little blog post about it to change it!
Consider this also a small celebration for our comeback.
In our first coining post about Feruvel (link) term - it is an neogender umbrella centered around feral, nonhuman and beast-like things. I am going to expand on what it encompasses as a whole:
It is instincts; feelings of hunger, pain, danger; food chains; animal behaviors; predator and prey dynamic; sharp teeth, horns, beaks and claws; feathers, fur and scales. In general, it is supposed to focus on middle ground between cute and violent in animal world. It is like saying "nature is cruel, but beautiful" in the same way a mother wolf is ferocious hunter, but cares for her cubs.
2. How does Feruvelic Attraction feels?
The label itself is fully based on the definition of Feruvel, therefore feruvelic attraction as a whole covers a lot of different presentations and feelings. In general it is, as it stands, feral, sometimes playing in the natural power dynamic between animals and environment around them, protective, dangerous and caring and most importantly it feels instinctual.
3. How does Feruvelic Attraction looks like?
Because of how big the attraction label itself is, the way it presents itself can be different in people. In one relationship a person may experience predator or prey drive towards the object of their attraction. In another they might see them as their group (aka pack, flock, pod, hive, etc). In third it might see the other as their territory or even vice versa (I can add onto this that draconic instinct to hoard and protect the hoard may also count as feruvelic if one chooses to do so).
It is most useful for alterhuman folks, neurodivergent people, but, honestly, can be experienced by anyone. A little rant, but that's probably what can be said about any other type of attraction if we're being completely honest, lol. Alteraffectis (link) as an umbrella might even make Feruvelic Attraction obsolete, although I am not sure of any of that and I can't make claims like this.
