I used a roll of Ferrania P30 in Birmingham yesterday. It is known for being a high contrast film and has an interesting history as you can read here. It was dull and overcast when I shot it - I think it would be very difficult to shoot in sunlit shadowy scenes! Also, I could not find any info on how to develop it in the developer I use (ilfotech HC)... and rather than buy a different developer for one film, I guessed it at 6 mins at 20 degrees and agitated just 3 gentle turns every minute. The image scans have been lifted a fair bit in lightroom as they were darker than I’d hoped but I’m actually fairly pleased with how they look.

Working Print and Printing map: Portrait on #ferraniap30 printed on Ilford’s Multigrade RC Deluxe with splitgrade method (see the map) the P30 is quite contrasts but working. The lighting situation was not ideal hence the blown out parts on her head. Might work a bit more on that tomorrow. The film is very very low grain together with the bright DUNCO Enlarger and the W.A. Componon 4.0/40 focusing with a grain focused is not easy!
