#I have a lot of thoughts about this I need to articulate properly hold on#like. his character is being clumsy and partially socially inept and he has a hard time speaking up for himself#and even if it’s played for gags he’ll take things more literally / it could def be inferred he has a hard time understanding social cues.#that’s literally the basis of some of his jokes with Quark#also he’s got volume control issues#also he’s seen as a Failure in his culture because he has a different way of thinking eg. ‘not having the lobes for business’ and gets#shamed for the fact he doesn’t fit into the rigid social standards of ferengi culture#also i personally headcanon he has dyspraxia but that’s a whole other can of worms (see: take me out to the holosuite)#anyways. that’s my argument sir take it as you will#ds9#deep space nine#rom ds9#ferengiposting
