first we'll talk about umvie, when they decide to have a kid they're already married for a few years (side note: to marry was mostly evie's idea and she was also the one who proposed), evie is the one who really wants a baby and she feels like they are ready because come on they partly raised dizzy and celia anyway and look how they turned out! anyway it's something they think A LOT about before doing it, it's their responsible mature decision, the problem is uma's terrified of the thought about carrying a baby, not that evie isn't, they both are, but evie decides she will be the one to do it, then comes a long process of choosing the right donor which makes them think of any male friend they've got, ben is not an option because mal would kill the three of them and because who the hell needs the whole drama about the royal succession and such, doug is just no, he's evie's ex and that's wierd, chad is... yeah, no thanks, gil is still a baby himself even if he's in his 30s now, carlos is just no for evie because it would be like having a baby with a brother, just no, which leaves them with jay and harry, uma wants it to be harry, evie wants it to be jay, jay is responsible and reliable and he won't give them any trouble, he's great, harry is... well, harry, from evie's perspective he's too chaotic, jay would 100% leave them alone and would let them be, but who knows what comes to harry's mind, what if he'd want to be in child's life more than evie and uma want him to be? and tho he is surprisingly good with kids, evie is not sure about this, uma can see her point, but she does remind evie a few times about that bone structure and those blue eyes and all that, the thing is from the perspective of genetics both guys are good choices so... basically they talk about it with both of them and both are okay with donating, but the thing is with harry it just doesn't work, i mean like medically, so jay end ups being the one, at some points during pregnancy evie sometimes gets terrified about the labor and about having a child in general (not like she doesn't want to, it's just still scary) but she conquers all of her fears with some therapy and uma's help, evie is almost sure they're expecting a girl, like something tells her little princess is on the way, but the princess turns out to be a prince, i don't know what they would call him cause it will take me another day to research and choose a name, but his name doesn't start with the first letter of one of his mothers names that's for sure, they also won't make him wear their own favorite colors, but the boy loves blue anyway (tho he loves a lot of colors and evie makes him more outfits that he needs, and that's how evie's four hearts starts to sell baby clothes too), it's not easy for evie and uma to be moms, their mothers never were a good example and they are always at least a little anxious about making it right, but they are both great parents and their boy grows up in a happy family
with harlos things are a little more complicated, the thing is once evie and uma have their child and harry doesn't end up being the donor/father he (to his own surprise) feels disappointed because it would kind of be cool to have a kid, carlos on the other hand is... well he doesn't really plan to have children just yet, he can see it happening in the future but for now harry and him aren't even married (they're not afraid of commitment, but both don't really understand the whole fuss about marriage either), it's ok with them to have just dude and belzebub (black cat), tho it all changes one day. the barrier was broken like 15 years ago, and there are still issues with the villains sometimes, people need saving and etc., so harry who has his own ship now and is basically an auradon navy captain, one day comes home with a little girl he saved, she's like 12-13 probably and she's not very friendly, in fact she doesn't speak much, but she just clings to harry and so there's that, carlos is ok with "she just needs a safe place to stay for a while" thing at first, tho the girl doesn't like him much, she can't trust people, she can be rude, and to be honest carlos who's really good with kids most of the time, doesn't know what to do with her, him and harry have a conflict on their hands because carlos is sure that this girl needs to be put in a system for adoption, and harry is letting her stay longer and longer and carlos doesn't feel like they are helping her, but she reminds harry of uma at that age so much and he just can't like what... throw her out? give her away? to some new people she'll have to learn to speak to and trust to? things get even more complicated when it turns out the girl is actually a shape shifter (she is the scar's granddaughter after all and in my mind all the lion kind characters are shape shifters in descendants universe) and carlos is the one who can actually help her with that (remember that scene with ben? yeah, so something like that) and that's when he and the girl (sorry still don't know how to name her either) become a lot closer too, there's of course a lot of angst and complications and it's all very tough for the three of them but they become a real family eventually
