Fennelkit!!!!!

The family! (The ones who didn’t fade, anyway)

In order, just to be more clear:

My favourite thing honestly is how Wildkit fits right in, he doesn’t even look out of place

Drew these with my finger in 1 minute so they’re not gonna be super accurate but anyways

—They live next to the mountains in foothills (hills before mountains).

—Specifically they live in a closed-off valley sort of thing. An area that’s surrounded by hills and that’s higher than the normal ground, but that’s still much lower than the hills themselves. Kind of like a bowl.

—Because we’re in the Dark Forest, the grass isn’t this green, that colour was just randomly chosen.

—I didn’t draw any cause it would clutter it up, but there are trees all over the area and some within the valley itself. Also lots of shrubbery

—It’s a fairly big space, big enough for the family to grow for at least a few generations and still be comfortable with everyone living there.

—Because I like the thought of it, they each have an individual den and a group den, as well as dens for certain purposes (ex. Bubbling storing his herbs). As for what each den is made from I haven’t decided yet, but I like to think there’s a variety.

what I DO know is that they have an area where it’s a home for all of them (as well as Wild) and there are also individual dens within that home

similar to how the Eye-Out Thorns/Wooden Teeth families have the whole thorns, which is big enough for specific dens and private rooms or rooms with certain purposes (this also goes for the Tunnel Family and Gaping Maws family among other)

although their home is on a much smaller scale

so basically I know the basic structure of their home, I’m just contemplating what environment I want it to be in + materials I want dens to have (I will say I do keep picture a hill of some kind, so maybe they’re inbetween the forest and the mountains where’s it’s still grass and trees, but the ground is higher and slopes more)

and what if they grow closer as a result? After all, the cat helping would have to be very attentive, caring, and supportive, and that would build a lot of trust and comfort.

Might be the same cat that helps Fennel with their bandages (or maybe just someone else in the family?)

Fennelkit:

—Extremely skeletal. Doesn’t just look starved, actually looks like they are one layer of skin away from exposing bone. So thin you can see the movement of their organs.

—Ears have no muscle and flop limply.

—Lack of facial muscle causes eyes to bulge out, typically has medical wrap to keep them in place. Also typically has medical wrap around vital parts of the body as a back up “second-skin.”

Bubblingkit:

—Tail is as stiff as a stick, does not move or bend at all. Was possibly amputated.

—Skin expands and contracts randomly, sometimes looking like a skeletal corpse, other times looking like a bloated body. The transition process is incredibly painful and hard on the lungs, and it is best to have an experienced med cat nearby to assist however possible.

Preemie-Kit Traits:

Fennelkit:

—Partially deaf

Bubblingkit:

—Teeth growing late, growing crookedly.

—Lungs not all the way developed, trouble breathing (very bad as a kit, got better with age)

(Both, along with their littermates, had to be under constant care as kits. They always needed to stay warm and fed and given extra attention. Coldness still bothers Fennel).
