Ceramicist, Wan Li Ya 万里雅’s works: “Thousands of Kilometers Landscape” and “International Thousands of Kilometers Landscape” were inspired by Chinese hand-scroll in ink and colour on silk entitled ‘One Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains’ by Northern Song Dynasty painter, Wang Ximeng (1096-1119). Instead of painting on silk, Wan Liya uses white porcelain with blue imagery in the contemporary shapes of household items such as bottles and containers for beverages, cosmetics and cleaners. The third image is another porcelain piece entitled: “The International Kiln- peach and flowers”
