AU where Katsuki has always been perfect. She’s always had to be. She’s always had to have on just the right amount of blush and lipstick, the cutest bra, the most flattering hairstyle. She’s always had to be the smartest, the girl with the quickest wit and the readiest to give a pervert her mind at a moment’s notice. She’s had to be equally good and sports and music, cooking and studying, flirting and fighting. Nobody will ever see one hair out of place on her head, muchless a failing grade in her english class.

But perfection comes at a cost, and the only person to ever see her in anything other than perfection has been Izuku. Izuku, whose opinion has never mattered, who has always been just a quirkless loser childhood best friend who can’t take a hint, that her parents just keep letting in the house because they don’t realize they aren’t friends anymore. Izuku whose there when she wakes up in the morning and there’s no makeup on yet and her hair isn’t brushed. Izuku whose overcritical of the friends she makes and the boys she kisses yet will help her wash off her smeared makeup after a bad night where they abandon her at the karaoke bar.
