I feel like Femlander interactions with male ver. Stillwell(we can name him James like in og comic, idk) would look like Jinx and Silco but much much more toxic. Wrote a little drabble based on an idea I had where Homelander is abandoned by everyone but The Deep, who in this is a woman.
Footsteps break Homelander out of his trace but he remains staring out the window, across a city that hates him, in a country that curses his name. It has been his actions that have led him here, yet he remains confident in the fact that what he did was best for everyone.
"Where are the others?" He asks, his voice cold.
"They're gone," The Deep replies, coming to stand beside him.
"And why are you still here?" He questions.
"Glutton for punishment I suppose," she says, more as a statement.
Homelander sighs heavily, the world crashing down around him yet The Deep, a woman he has loathed for years, still stands at his side, just within reach as she always has been.
"We could leave," she continues. "We could find a quiet island somewhere and live our lives. The world would forget us eventually, but we'd still have each other."
He scoffs and sneers, shaking his head.
"Why would I want to be anywhere near you?"
He hears her chuckle in disbelief and from the corner of his eye, he can see her shake her head.
"Even when I am the last to remain, the last to stand by you, you reject me."
Homelander waits, hands clasped behind his back, his body language shows indifference yet if she were to walk away, he'd grab her arm and force her to stay.
He's never been one to show his true feelings.
Yet she doesn't move, she just stands beside him, staring out across the city.
Gingerly, he reaches across to grasp her hand, fingers interlocking in a show of unity.
She really is the only one he has left.
"So," he begins, after a shaky breath, "where is this island?"
