Little PSA to my fellow artists out there:
If you reach out to someone to offer art commissions, and they ask for examples of your artwork and proof that your work isn't AI, so you send them those examples and WIPs, and then they end up blocking you...
That does NOT make them a scammer.
When you're offering any form of art commissions, it's your responsibility to provide those examples of your previous work, so they can make an informed decision as to whether or not they want to spend their own money to commission you. They don't owe you anything just because you took the time to send them those examples, especially if you reached out to them first.
"But Birdseye! The person made a post saying that they're looking to commission an artist!1! They're obviously just trying to waste everyone's time!!!"
You still made the decision to send them that DM. If you're really that upset about the time you spent digging up those references and WIPs, then it's probably a good idea to make a portfolio post to keep all those examples nice and neatly in one place, so you can just send that link and be all set.
If several people accuse you of using AI, they aren't the problem. Instead of going around making call-out posts about every person who blocks you and accusing them of being scammers (despite the fact that you haven't even drawn anything for them yet), you should take a moment to reflect on your art style and figure out why so many people think it's AI generated.
