Tbh I love that Walter’s last act of saving Jesse is so open to interpretation. Was it his one genuinely selfless act of love for the person he hurt the most? Was it a recognition of Jesse’s humanity and agency? An apology? Or was it one last self-serving act of playing God with Jesse’s life, an eternal reminder that Jesse wouldn’t have gotten out alive without him, just another means of securing his legacy and of binding them together? Personally, I see it is a refutation of Walter’s confession in Ozymandias, which was both the truth and a lie. It was true that he murdered Jane, but the confession itself was made to corroborate Jesse’s fear that Walter never cared about him, that everything they had done for and to each other meant nothing, that it was all for nothing. Walter saving Jesse in Felina is him admitting this was a lie. It’s a love confession.
