i donât know if iâve ever talked about felder orc settlement habits before! so allow me to.
whereas humans and elves build up (elves sometimes Way Up), orcs build down. the âcityâ orcs of the major mountain kingdoms like makal and shtalguz carve their massive labyrinthine homes into the mountain faces themselves, like what you might expect from your typical fantasy dwarf.
the âtownâ orcs live in earth lodges built into the bases of large mound constructs, up to 20 lodges per square mound, sometimes with several families per lodge. the tops of these mounds are communal ceremonial and feasting centers. every 20 years or so (depending on the local culture), the ceremonial site is ritually destroyed, the mound is built up a few inches, and the site is rebuilt.
âvillageâ or âtribalâ orcs typically live in pithouses in large circles surrounding a common bonfire, but there is a lot of diversity in the different tribal groups, so itâs hard to pinpoint any one system as universal or even common.
