Mesh — No Fun at All (Feel It)
Never mind the title. Mesh’s first full-length (following a 2019 EP) slashes and kicks like a karate fight, and unlike a raft of current sharp guitared, slurry vocaled post-punk records, it’s fun, fun, fun. Dip one toe into “Quicksand,” with its vortex of spiraling bass line, its clatter and clangor of drums, and you’ll be sucked into its maw, but joyfully. Or take a chance on softer-focused “Weapon of Peace,” with its Terry-like male/female voices and drum-frilled absurdist chorus (“this is a weapon of war/this is a weapon of peace”). Mesh, out of Philadelphia, crosshatches the righteous melodies of, say, the Jam, with the anarchic glee of Aussie post-punk.Â
An anon sent this in. Great reminder for everyone!

Welcome the day
I swear I can think deeply and analyze things but I can never actually put things into words
it’s like trying to catch a ball you can’t touch, yk?
