 I have worked on and built many architectural models in many different scales for several different companies and businesses. I started out in the paint department at Alchemy II working on the television pilot for the Talking Teddy Bear Teddy Ruxpin where I literally started out cleaning paint buckets, airbrushes, and doing general labor helping out many of the other artists who were working on various parts of the television production. I was lucky enough to finally get to participate in fabricating a bunch of little airplanes, thanks to the graciousness and trusting nature of the gentleman who was overseeing the entire construction of the sculptural and miniature elements of the production. His name was Carl West ... may he rest in peace. I moved on from Alchemy II when the production came to an end and I went on to go do other work which helped me to also add to and build both my resume and my portfolio.

Hi! I’m Hannah Lee, a junior studying Media, Culture, and Communication at Steinhardt. I wanted to make sure that all of the classes I take for my remaining time at NYU would be from genuine interest and not merely to fulfill a requirement. Simultaneously, I was thinking about what I wanted when looking for a class: supportive of my own curiosities, complimentary to my past job experiences, and able to challenge my preconceived notions about the media. After working with PBS NewsHour, National 4-H Council, Regeneron, and Phaidon (which are all in completely different industries), I realized all of my roles with them deepened my understanding of viewing media and entertainment through a business perspective instead of an audience perspective, where we’re just expected to have an opinion on whether we liked it by the end of the experience. I’m also not super knowledgeable but very curious about the feature films industry, so I thought dedicating my time throughout this semester to getting down to the nitty-gritty with class discussions and personal discoveries would be very rewarding!
