FD Signifier put out a video about Sinners (more about how it reflects the nature of black art in the structure of capitalism that informs Hollywood, and Coogler's role in it, than just straight up about the movie itself) and he keeps fucking with his editor(?) by saying 'man, I wish I knew some Irish creators who could expand on this element… oh well! too bad, I don't know any!' and his editor is an Irish guy who keeps stitching himself into screen to go I COULD DO THAT I COULD TALK ABOUT THAT LET ME TALK ABOUT THE IRISH BIT
The Irish guy may or may not actually be his editor? From what I can find, it's Super Eyepatch Wolf, who isn't listed as an editor in any of FD's stuff, but the nature of the interjections suggests they're done by the editor, so like. I don't know. But I still think the bit is funny.
in honor of racist idiots in my notes recently making a huge fit that i have the absolute gall to talk about the solidarity we need to be having with drag artists (even when they are cis) in how they experience transmisogyny making a huge fit at me daring to point out how often transmisogyny affects cis women of color and then every single time i provide concrete evidence that these groups not only routinely support us (although they neednt have to to receive ours) but also that the violence they face is very real and comparable to ours they deflect asking why we arent solely focusing only on [white] transfems (even despite their token insistence they give two shits about black trans women) quibbling and squirming about why we need to discuss race at all arguing that it distracts from what we should be focusing on
in honor of these persistent racists insisting transfeminists shouldnt be centering black cis people and insisting they arent racist for saying so imma take a moment today to let a veteran teacher and public speaker and educator on social issues describe racism for the class
not because it will convince them, after all

you are not exempt from being racist because you are indifferent to racism and how it affects others
the indifference IS racism and until you can recognize and see how so many trans issues are deeply related to race not just that they are but WHY and in what ways and how that works on the most basic level to cis people before we even start discussing how it affects trans people of color then you cannot and WILL not be an effective ally for those trans people of color because you are still acting from an active place of indifference from an active place of racism

I know I've reblogged it before but I cannot recommend F.D. Signifier's video on the Kendrick/Drake beef highly enough. This is extremely good analysis of a subculture from an expert and enthusiast that's accessible to a layperson, with the necessary historical context.
Also he dunks on Drake fans in a hilarious but mean way and I respect that. But he also has enough critical distance to step back and acknowledge some of the kinda shitty ways Drake's been treated, while keeping in mind that Drake just fucking sucks.
It's well worth your time and I'll be checking out his other stuff.
I'm so so so pleased to see a big creator I like talking about masking, how the pandemic is NOT over, and how public health has failed us.
