FD Signifier put out a video about Sinners (more about how it reflects the nature of black art in the structure of capitalism that informs Hollywood, and Coogler's role in it, than just straight up about the movie itself) and he keeps fucking with his editor(?) by saying 'man, I wish I knew some Irish creators who could expand on this element… oh well! too bad, I don't know any!' and his editor is an Irish guy who keeps stitching himself into screen to go I COULD DO THAT I COULD TALK ABOUT THAT LET ME TALK ABOUT THE IRISH BIT
The Irish guy may or may not actually be his editor? From what I can find, it's Super Eyepatch Wolf, who isn't listed as an editor in any of FD's stuff, but the nature of the interjections suggests they're done by the editor, so like. I don't know. But I still think the bit is funny.
FD Signifier has positioned himself as the actual sane / academic / rational leftist of YouTube et al. His methods, analysis, and Opinions™️ are absolutely dog shit when it has to do with Jews.
If you’re going to make sweeping (incorrect) generalizations at least talk to a single Jew about it first.
My man is like “we’re talking about antisemitism wrong” enumerates the problem of antisemitism in leftist spaces, and proceeds to make us caricatures, apply the western lens of race to Jewish ethnicity, and claim Judaism and Zionism overlapping at all is “the insidiousness of liberal Zionism”
And then invites on 3 Arabs to explain Jewish religious and political beliefs 💀

I know I've reblogged it before but I cannot recommend F.D. Signifier's video on the Kendrick/Drake beef highly enough. This is extremely good analysis of a subculture from an expert and enthusiast that's accessible to a layperson, with the necessary historical context.
Also he dunks on Drake fans in a hilarious but mean way and I respect that. But he also has enough critical distance to step back and acknowledge some of the kinda shitty ways Drake's been treated, while keeping in mind that Drake just fucking sucks.
It's well worth your time and I'll be checking out his other stuff.
