fazfusions asked: ". . . Freddy... I didn't know where else to go. I-- I couldn't... I couldn't do anything out there." ( Gregory in that AU >:) )
[Freddy had been thrilled to see Gregory again -- having endured two weeks of the boy's absence, his surprise visit was welcomed wholeheartedly. He knew that it was dangerous for Gregory to be here -- he'd warned against it and even encouraged him to leave, to be with his family -- but now he was back, and Freddy couldn't be happier.]
[That is, until Freddy hugged him, and this reunion turned into a devastating, grisly realization of the mistake he'd made. His sensors indicated that Gregory was bleeding from several spots -- and sure enough, when Freddy lifted his paw, there was a fresh bloodstain on his pads.]
[Then, Gregory spoke up -- Freddy had expected that hearing the boy's voice again would warm his "heart," but instead, it broke. He had never heard Gregory so...distraught. Panicked, tearful. From the sound of it, he had nowhere to go once he'd left the Pizzaplex, which shattered the bear -- Freddy had been thoroughly convinced that Gregory would be safe if he left. As though his home would be directly outside the door, his parents within walking distance, a shelter in his immediate vicinity. He so desperately wanted to believe that Gregory was okay...]
[But he'd been blind. Just a precursory glance at the boy's condition told him enough about what he'd been through, and yet -- not nearly enough.]
[Freddy glanced at his paw again, trying not to wince at the fresh blood on his plastic "palm." What on Earth could have happened to him?? Wounds like this wouldn't come naturally from a scrape or a fall. These were...puncture-like in nature, as though he'd been...]
[Freddy struggled to ignore the alarm bells ringing in his system, alerting him to every single surface-level injury the boy had sustained, and gently placed his paw back on Gregory's back. Holding it there would hopefully prevent further bleeding. He...didn't want to think any more on the matter, not until he was able to patch Gregory up.]
❝ Gregory, I -- ❞ [Freddy faltered, unable to finish his sentiment; he had so many questions, but the most important...] ❝ What happened to you? ❞
