Can Lucy drive?

The short answer is no.  The longer answer is don’t let her behind the wheel if you value your life.  Technically, she can drive.  She got her license (barely), and drove for about two month before almost getting into a wreck.  After that, her family put a ban on her driving, and she does so only in emergencies now.  It’s not that she doesn’t get how, it’s that she gets too easily distracted to be properly trusted

Is commuting a pain?

Having a job at one of the main hospitals in London means that she’s always within walking distance.  If she doesn’t want to walk, the bus is always a good way to go, and she does, of course, have an oyster card.  Mostly, though, she prefers to walk.  Even when it’s bitterly cold, she’ll soldier through it (though her siblings always yell at her because she forget to wear a coat a lot)
