This Is a Movie Review: Swiss ArmyĀ Man Swiss Army Man is a lot like the recent X-Files episode, āMulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster,ā in that a human-esque creature learns the rules that govern human civilization and then offers a rejuvenating perspective to a fully human companion.

Sissy Spacek -Ā āDisfathomā (Helicopter) The obi strip on the CD describes this asĀ āhellish unrelenting grindcoreā. I see no reason to argue with the obi strip on the CD. Charles Bradley -Ā āChangesā (Daptone Records) Heartbreaking, rousing, timeless American soul. Inspired fantasies of making a movie just to set the opening credits to his rendition ofĀ āGod Bless Americaā. BonnieĀ āPrinceā Billy -Ā āPond Scumā (Drag City) Heartbreaking, devastating, timeless American folk. Inspired fantasies of a long road trip with Will Oldham, replete with campfires and being drunk in the woods. fƶldĀ -Ā āerdÅ hangā (Moss Archive) An electronic soundscape of lush subtitles deftly playing off each other with a dynamism and restraint that is endlessly inspiring.
Farting Corpse full length (Craniophagus ParasiticusĀ Records) Bad trip noisecore - gurgles ooze out from the cracks of endless blasting, cut up noise, and unknowable horrors bubbling away in the rainbow of unfun this record represents with sass and verve. Any ābandā present in the maelstrom sounds like theyāre practicing the next room over. In league with other modern classics like Two Million Tons Of Shitās side of their tape with Sete Star Sept and Absolute NothingāsĀ āBears And Yoga Against Mankindā tape. Bromp Treb -Ā āConcession Themesā (Feeding Tube Records) Reminds me of cartoons from the 50s and math learning PC games from the 90s. Blindingly vibrant, a rare record in that it is subject entirely to its own rules, and as exciting as it is vaguely distressing. Like finding a portal to another world in a closet youād walked by without comment for years.
