In honour of Endangered Species Day today, I made another Amur leopard cub, my favourite big cat. I've just listed him in the shop and will be donating 20% of the sale to @conservewildcats to support the great work they are doing to give Amur leopards and wild tigers a future. 🐆 Although still considered the world's most endangered big cats, results from the most recent camera trapping census showed estimates of more than 100 individuals, the first time in decades that numbers are over 100. Here is my favourite big cat that I've been working on, the Amur leopard!🐆💗 Amur leopards are one of the world's most endangered big cats. They are critically endangered, mostly due to human activities, with fewer than 80 individuals left in the wild in the Russian Far East and North East China.😢 Although 80 is already such a small number, not too long ago, estimates were only around 35-40h so it's encouraging to see numbers increasing thanks to conservation efforts. My love for Amur leopards began while I was doing my Masters in Biodiversity & Conservation over in the UK, where I had the amazing opportunity to intern at the Zoological Society of London, assisting with their Amur leopard & Sumatran tiger conservation programs. I also ended up doing my thesis on these beautiful species and ever since they've had a very special place in my heart. 💖 I've just popped this guy in my shop and will be donating 20% from the sale to @conservewildcats to support their conservation projects that protect Amur leopards and tigers in the wild.
