a robin hood telling! if you like a political YA fantasy, this is perfect!
✩ the mad king and the false queen by hope and amanda abrom:
two friends: a princess and an assassin switch places. it reminded me of barbie princess and the pauper and if you know me, there's no higher compliment
✩ quicksilver by callie hart:
fast-paced romantasy with lots of banter, sarcasm, and a cool af magic system. i couldn't put this down!
✩ an ember in the ashes by sabaa tahir:
a heavy but genius fantasy book. if you love a masterfully woven plot and high stakes-this was so good!
✩ the serpent and the wings of the night by carissa broadbent:
a political romantasy with kind of hunger games vibes? so fun!
✩ one dark window by rachel gillig:
possibly the most unique magic system ever (magic with cards??) the plot was so good and i feel like if i reread i'll pick up more on how genius it is.
✩ house of earth and blood by sarah j maas:
it goes without saying that i recommend throne of glass and acotar, but i feel like no one talks about crescent city! an urban high fantasy with such a complex but genius plot and world building.

I just finished reading “The sword of Kaigen” by M.L. Wang and I’m emotionally devastated and overwhelmed at the same time

Terry Pratchett strikes again. Can I describe the plot of this book? Maybe. I was confused for the majority of the book, but not really in a bad way, more just in a bizarre way. After the Ankh-Morpork arc the plot actually became a bit easier to follow, mostly because Terry couldn't shove then people into one scene anymore (I'm looking at you Barrel ambush scene). The Luggage is by far my favourite character, followed closely by Death (a true icon). The whole sub-plot of this carnivorous chest chasing after the main characters was just too funny. This was truly just a really funny book. I would definitely read one of Pratchett's works again, even more definitely if it includes Death (or, even better, the Luggage).
