This park had a wonderful view of a Ferris wheel, so long as I balanced carefully on this fence post. I would have liked a picture from within the wheel, but there wasn't enough time that day - a pity.

We arrived at this little amusement park in Japan at just the right time to view their nightly light show. The colors were magnificent - I wish I had gotten more photos!

The lights in this garden were magnificent, though it was hard to stay balanced on this pole for long enough to get a decent photo. My traveling companion had just captured this one when someone stopped us - I was not supposed to be on that pole. Oops!

My traveling companion talks often about his mother's cooking, but I was surprised to discover that this drink she made for the winter holidays was as delicious as he said it would be! Dangerously so - I could hardly taste the alcohol.

This is my traveling companion's childhood home - though I met him after he left it, we still visit from time to time and it's always a little melancholy. I understand. I miss my old home among the stars from time to time too, even though the lair and hoard I've built here is far greater than any I'd have found out there.

This town I visited was very much to my taste, full of hills, forests, and old buildings. This outcrop was a comfortable vantage point to look out across the whole area - a shame it's so far from my lair, I would love to make it a regular destination.

The pond at this garden was full of flowers, including this huge white bud. I've heard that these are sacred because they rise from the mud to bring beauty to the world...I can do that too, but covered in mud? I think not.

This little sign by a train station in Japan caught my attention, and I took some time to study it, imagining what it could possibly say. After a quick picture of my quiet reflection, my traveling companion pulled up a translator and told me it referred to the beautiful trees behind me. How serendipitous!
