Today is my 34th Tolkien anniversary. As is befitting, I’m working on new Tolkien art, in this case a watercolour of Treebeard.
And yes, it took me three years but it's finally here!!! My Fangorn comic!🌱
I hit a very strong artblock period and started feeling very uninspired and stressed because of work, plus my iPad was not working really well, so this took me a while. But I'm happy with how it came out, and with the fact that I think I managed to make it just like I wanted to <3
Enjoy!

LOTR-posting: I do love how Celeborn warns the Fellowship away from Fangorn, and then when Merry and Pippin end up there and tell Treebeard this he says that he’d have warned them away from Lothlorien. And then at the end of the book when Celeborn and Treebeard meet it turns out they’re old friends who’ve known each other for millennia.
Often having a Hobbit POV means there’s hints of whole battles and alliances and histories and worlds going on around the story that you’ll never get to really see - and sometimes it means “you’re never going to figure out whatever this forest-related beef is between two different varieties of Tree Guy.”
(I also love that the Bakshi LOTR has the same actor doing Treebeard and Celeborn!)
Seven more! Hehehe 🕷🕸 Probably the last few from LOTR (if I'm not tempted to draw Ghân-buri-Ghân, I may be) but because I'm continuing this project till Easter I'll draw few guys from Hobbit and Silmarillion in the days left. Also, I’ve decided I'll be selling the originals after I finish all the drawings. But if there is any character you'd like to have in particular you can start reserving them now. By messaging me here or on [email protected] :^)
Shelob, Wormtongue and King of the Dead are left from this bunch!
The size of the drawings is A6 and prices from 50 to 80USD (shipping included). Also as last year with the dog drawings this year too - all the earnings will be sent to charities. Thank you! 🌿
Rest of the characters are here and here and here and here!
