you can't tell me it's normal to call rape "fun" even in fiction, imagine if a man said that lol. you're not any better. it's a mental illness and you shouldn't be proud of it. stop reading fics and start talking to people in real life cause you're completely out of touch with reality
some people will see a stranger mind their own business, engage in a hobby that does not harm anyone in real life and think âI will play a therapist by diagnosing a complete stranger, whom I donât know, with mental illness and make this my business somehowâ
anyway, I am telling you that itâs NORMAL to find dark fiction fun, even if it portrays things like rape.
the same way itâs normal to find horror movies, slasher movies, war movies where characters get brutally and graphically killed fun.
why? because no one is actually being harmed in real life.
fictional characters are fantasies and thought crimes are not real.
âimagine if a man said thatâ I honestly could not care less what fanfiction a man reads or what he jerks off to. as long as heâs not actually hurting anybody in real life, his fantasies arenât my business or concern
âyouâre not any betterâ please tell me where exactly I say I am âbetterâ
âyou shouldnât be proud of itâ I actually am very proud of it. I am proud of my fics, including the ones that are about rape. I am proud of how far Iâve come as a writer. and I am proud of how unapologetic I am to portray dark and taboo things in my art.
âstop reading ficsâ No. I will neither stop reading fics nor will I stop writing fics. and thereâs absolutely nothing you can do about that.
âstart talking to people in real lifeâ I have a lot of friends, thank you. and they all know that fiction =/= reality. we also love talking about how we can hurt our favorite fictional characters in our fics more. and itâs super fun. we always have a great time sharing each other ideas on what we should write.
âyouâre completely out of touch with realityâ then so are thousands, if not millions, of people who enjoy dark fiction because they know fiction are not reality and thought crimes are not real.
my advice? mind your own business. itâs totally okay to not be okay with taboo fiction. I donât expect everybody to like or even understand the appeal of taboo fiction. but just because you personally donât understand it doesnât mean itâs not something a lot of people enjoy regardless.
next time you see something you donât like on the internet, use that block button, mute that word, or scroll past it. what a stranger enjoys in fiction is not your business.
