It has been twenty-three years since the fall of the Republic. Twenty-three years since I lost you. I am certain you wouldn't even be able to recognize me now. I am confined to a suit that keeps me alive, I am more machine than man. 

I would have done anything to protect you back then, but in the end, it was me who ended up hurting you…there isn't a day where I am not haunted by your passing. I sank deeper into the dark side until Anakin Skywalker was killed completely. I was sure that there was no hope for me to see the light again until I met my son. He reminds me much of Padme, he shares her strong heart but I could also see your kindness in him. 

He saved me from the dark, even so, I still did those awful things. I have done many things I have come to regret now. I have killed and hurt so many innocent souls. I cannot help but agree with the death sentence the New Republic has given me.

The Empire has fallen and the New Republic has begun a new era of freedom for the galaxy. Luke had fought for my life during the trial but even I could see they had already made up their minds. My daughter Leia, leads the New Republic along with her supporters. She is strong and brave and has all the qualities of a great leader. I think you and Padme would be incredibly proud of them. 

Right now I am in the confines of my cell on Coruscant, waiting for the guards to come to retrieve me for my execution. I have only an hour left but I wanted to write you. Even if you cannot see this, I need to tell you this. 

I love you, Ashley. 

 I was blind to overlook you all of those years ago when I first met you and your sister. It wasn't until it was too late that I finally realized how much I loved you. You have always been a part of me no matter how hard I tried to ignore it as Darth Vader. I will love you in this life and in the next. I just hope one day we can be reunited so I can show you how much I love you.

 No matter where I go, no matter what happens to me. I will always carry you with me, my dearest love.

Situations are stressful and full of mess right now. Anyone who has the extra money and would like to place an order for a character letter from a fandom. I have an etsy shop that is currently selling monthly email subscriptions to penpal fictional characters of your choice from any fandom. (If I am unfamiliar with the chosen fandom, I will put in the research to provide the best possible service.)

I have approximately 500 dollars of bills that are due, and I am willing to provide this service to anyone who has 5 dollars to offer. If 100 people place orders for the fandom service I'll meet this goal.

The diplomatic mission to Lothal was a success, which means that I am set to arrive home in nearly two cycles. I would tell you more about the mission but I recently was made aware that the Republic is screening letters in an attempt to find Separatist information. This war feels like it is going nowhere with many clones laying down their lives for the republic, I can't help but hope that it will see to an end quickly. Even though the thoughts of the war plague my mind, it often helps when I think of who I will be returning home to after every mission, debate, and Senate meeting. I can’t wait to see you again, it almost feels like it's been years instead of a week away from you. 

I hope I didn't keep you waiting long though. I know that my work as a senator can often get in the way of our time together, but I am grateful that you stay for me. I have so much planned for us when I return, I know I promised you a trip to the Lake Country on Naboo, but I would also love for you to finally meet my family. I am so excited to show you everything there, the hidden waterfalls, the beautiful scenery, and my favorite restaurant on Elnore Street. There is so much I want to show you but so little time. 

I hope you know I cherish our moments together even if they are not as long as I would like them to be. I will be home soon Y/n.
