Spamtenna and 3rd Life Treebark are similar but also not.
Martyn and Spamtom both were with Ren or Tenna for a certain purpose intending to betray them once the moment came. Thing is, Spamtom ended up doing it. Martyn didn't.
Ren and Tenna are both powerful softies but also they are a bit of tyrants with their powers and they want to help people even if they end up "messing things" more in the process because at the end of the day what they want is to be love by the people they care about.
Spamtenna is bound to not work out because of their circumstances, because of being of different dark worlds. Because of the prophecy.
Treebark is bound to not work out because of the Games. Because of how much more their enemies are and because in Martyn's mind at least, the two of them can never have won together.
