an emotional whump (<3) trope i love is when a character is reasonably but unfairly distrusted or accused of something (if youve ever heard of/seen "white collar" theres a lot of that with neal caffrey)
like the person accusing them, importantly, isnt unreasonable in their thinking and they feel betrayed or sad by finding out what the other character "did". maybe all the evidence points to the character and maybe theyve already done something similar in the past but they havent this time and now they have to prove their innocence against whatever and earn back the other character's trust (while perhaps also contending with their actions that got their relationship to such a fragile state of trust in the first place)
I’ve heard of the show, but I’ve never seen it. I LOVE this trope though! False accusations is one of those things that gets my mind gears spinning! And if it’s a reasonable thing, even done by one of their friends, there’s soooo much more angst potential😈
