my redraw of @ink-the-artist nonbinary demon, inspired by @mister-apples. Is this what people call a kinsona?

Sorry for not posting for over a month, but I drew a self-portrait a few days ago I'd like to share! I didn't draw my tail because I usually forget to, but oh well. I designed a kinsona (just myself as my kintype) the other day, and I was feeling really good about it! I couldn't stop looking at xem, I kept opening the tab to see myself a bit more, I was really giddy about it

but then I showed it to my partner, and they didn't really like it... they said xe was mid, then treated it like my normal OCs and critiqued the design (they help me with character design often so this isn't abnormal), but like- it's not an OC! it's just me! that's what I look like! legitimately the only things I added besides phantoms and traits present on my physical form were top surgery scars, which they didn't care about and kinda expected since it's a 'sona

they're usually really supportive, but I don't know how to talk to them about this... I don't know how to explain why xe's different from my other designs, I technically didn't even design xem... idk it just makes me feel really shitty about myself, I feel really ugly in a way that's difficult to adequately put into words...
