One of Fallcrestâs longest running traditions has made itâs way back around this year!
Our Fallcrest High Schoolâs big Homecoming football game, between our fierce Fallcrest Phantoms and the Warren Area High Schoolâs Dragons is bound to be a match to remember, folks. Fallcrest hasnât been able to claim victory at a homecoming game since 1952, but with the current roster on our varsity lineup, I wouldnât count them out just yet!
Of course, the majority of the town is much more keen on finding out what the outcome of the recent hearing at Town Hall was, concerning of course the annual dance that follows the game. As most longtime residents are well aware, the game is usually followed by a dance that is open to the entire town right in the middle of the field; however, with the recent turn that the a certain party took recently it was put up to a vote to see if the dance would still continue.
And there will be a dance!
Of course, measures are being taken in order to ascertain the safety of our youngins, first and foremost. The big change being the venue for the dance: as opposed to the open and hard to manage football field, the dance will be hosted at the Canopy Club! The new owner, Alec Bjurman and his mother, Fatima Bjurman are Fallcrest natives come back home and apparently ready to continue the Bjurman legacy of providing for the community.
It has been stated that the bartenders at the club will be on duty, and vigilant when it comes to who approaches them, with Mr. Bjurman already reaching out to Sheriff Avesta in order to coordinate security measures so that the Sheriffâs Department will have unrestricted access to the club so they can keep things in order.
The Canopy Club will also be setting up their second floor to play host to a variety of food stalls, much like the football field has before, as well as different Fall activities for those who do not wish to dance the night away to partake in.
Itâs shaping up to be a one heck of a Homecoming folks, and hereâs to hoping our boys give us even more reason to celebrate come dance time!
