i got pumpkin soup at a cafe today because it finally got cold enough for the seasonal menu and it wasn’t just 🌟 aesthetic 🌟 and cozy it was actually delicious. kind of weird to admit but sometimes with all the romanticizing life stuff i forget food’s main job is to be tasty and nourishing and the pretty part is just a bonus. anyway i’m very happy rn

fall-ing into autumn

in honor of the first day of autumn being yesterday, here's a list of some things i like to do to get into the mood ! :)

start dressing for the season

yellows, oranges, browns, generally just muted colors. flannels, corduroys, boots, converse, and jeans!

light a seasonal candle

or any candle really, candles are very fall coded

put up string lights

soft lights are a MUST for fall (i have them everywhere in my apartment all year round)

bake yummy treats!

i love the pumpkin bread mix from trader joes, but i've been wanting to try making pumpkin bread from scratch recently! also, the seasonal pillsbury sugar cookies are perfect for a weekend movie marathon with hot cocoa :)

go apple picking/to a pumpkin patch

this one is perfect for october especially, though i haven't been to a fall festival in a long time - this year that will change though! going to school in a rural area, there are tons of apple orchards and pumpkin patches to visit near by. fall is also gorgeous here ... i love my school :)

decorate!!!

you can go all out, but if you're a broke student like me, some dollar-store window clings and homemade paper leaves will do as well!
