Argentine pilots: No one can beat us at low level flights!

No, the Malvinas weren't discovered by the British nor the french, they were discovered by Spain and became argentinian territory when we gained independence.
Yes, there were people living there when England stole them, they were either murdered or chased off. And even if there had been no people there, that still doesn't fucking excuse it???
No, we aren't saying we should kick off the people living there, that would be doing the same thing the British did back then. We're asking you to acknowledge the fact that they are rightful argentinian territory and that they were illegally stolen and colonized.
Daily Featured Flag #13: Argentina
Today's daily featured flag is the flag of the Argentine Republic. I've picked this flag for today for multiple reasons. For one, I'm in a contest in a small community I'm in where if your team wins the World Cup you get a US$10 gift card, and I was randomly assigned Argentina. Secondly, today is Argentina's independence day. Go bother all the Argentinians in your life with this news at 2:30 in the morning as I already have. Not much more to say about my justification other than that this is a really pretty flag- the shade of sky blue used is just light enough to be tender and nice on the eyes, but just dark enough to still leave an impact, and that iconic sun in the center has been staring into my soul since I first saw this flag circa. age three.
If you'd like to see your most beneficent banner bequeathed upon this blog tomorrow, go down to the reblogs and replies and post an image of the flag, a little about it, and a short blurb about why you like it. Also, asks are now open in case you have any questions for the mind behind "Add Butterfinger To Toronto." Happy flagging!

Falkland Islands
It may be a mistake to jump into the World Cup History Drama, but I personally find it kind of wild that so many Argentina fans are so passionate about an archipelago that Argentina held for at most 15 years which ended nearly 200 years ago. Like do people realize how many borders and nations have changed since 1834, and what the world would be like if every country tried to press all the territorial claims that they’ve had over the past two centuries? Not to mention that the island’s population is and has been largely English for generations, do the Argentinians just want to imperializs the islands and forcibly remove them?? (I mean that was the military dictatorship’s plan in the 1980s, but I doubt many people would want to follow in their footsteps)
It’s just crazy that this is still coming up decades after the Falklands War, and so many Argentinans seem to be seriously treating the World Cup like their only chance at revenge for a failed imperialist expedition, it’s ridiculous 💀
