Working on my character designs - my plan was for these three to be super expressive and stylised but my brain is apparently strongly against stylisation. I think they show personality, though, and although this wasn't where I expected to end up I don't hate it.
These are characters from a story I will never have the capacity to tell so I guess I'll just rotate them in my brain forever.
The sword of the day is the falcata.
The falcata comes from pre-Roman Iberia, the peninsula that includes modern-day Spain and Portugal. It is designed to chop like an axe, and the recurve edge allows it to cut very deeply and powerfully. Notably, it was also used by Hannibalβs army as he attacked Rome in the Second Punic War.

Falcata Fighter It looks so sci-fi to me, but the falcata actually an ancient Iberian peninsula sword. https://www.archangelsteel.com/swords/falcata-fighter-sword
I figured Falcata could use some updated art! Falβs a greasy grumpy Pearlcatcher who doesnβt care for anything except bowling, and has drilled holes into his own pearl to use as a ball.
