Day 4: Heliotrope
Had a hard time thinking of what devotion meant for them, so I landed on this scene in the end. And I like scene redraws hehe
Fakiru week 2025 Day 1: Honeysuckle
Day 4: Devotion / Heliotrope
What if the kiss scene at the end of Princess Tutu with Rue and Mytho was with Ahiru and Fakir instead 👀
My one and only post for Fakiru week. Thanks for having me I had a blast drawing this!!!! @fyeahfakiruweek
Day1 · Honeysuckle
The Wild Honeysuckle by Philip Freneau
Fair flower, that dost so comely grow,
Hid in this silent, dull retreat,
Untouch’d thy honey’d blossoms blow,
Unseen thy little branches greet.

Fakiru Week 2025
Honeysuckle - Generous, Devotion, Affection, Healing, Happiness
Honeysuckles grow as, hardy, clinging vines, which may be the reason they have been symbolically linked to unwavering emotional bonds. Their sweet scent and usage in several remedies, historical and contemporary, bring happiness, healing, and calm.
The Victorian belief that placing honeysuckle flowers under your pillow would cause you to dream of your true love may have originated from Shakespeare (Roux, Floriography, p. 84). In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Queen Titania relates her action of wrapping her arms around Nick Bottom as he sleeps to a honeysuckle growing around an elm tree. While Ahiru and Fakir's relationship is entirely dissimilar, I found recontextualizing the quote to be incredibly inspirational.
Sleep thou, and I will wind thee in my arms… So doth the woodbine the sweet honeysuckle Gently entwist. The female ivy so Enrings the barky fingers of the elm. O, how I love thee! How I dote on thee!
– William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 4, Scene 1
