“Milkshake” by @kelis has to be the weirdest hit song of the past two decades.

The chorus melody in #FakeBitch was in mind for a few months before putting fingers to keyboard and programming it in #LogicPro. Once the idea arose of rhyming “fake bitch” with “fake tits” in the lyrics of the chorus melody, the song was a go. Those lyrics would be memorable enough to warrant recording and mixing.

The original version was raunchier than what’s available today. A few days after releasing the original version, it was replaced with a new, less explicit version.

The explicit material and dubstep breakdowns in the latter songs on GoBoy 1 increased GoBoy’s male audience at the time, which had been primarily female. The move towards more explicit content was inspired by @eminem and @blink182, who I grew up listening to.

The intro rapping segment was inspired by @3OH3, Kesha, and LMFAO, who were doing a new style of pop-rapping at the time (pop-rapping isn’t a term, I just don’t know how to describe their rapping style other than that they rapped over pop beats rather than hip-hop beats) (excerpts from post 16).

Listening to it today, it impresses me that both verses are so different from one another. You could say that the song doesn’t have verses, and that it consists of three bridges and choruses.

“Fake Bitch” was part of an album titled “Drop Out University,” which makes me cringe so hard my face looks like a raisin. I went through a phase where I thought higher education was socioeconomic insurance, rather than a place to learn, as you could learn a majority of educational topics on the internet. @blink182 you should re-release the Box Car Racer and +44 albums as blink-182 albums and use the band names as the album titles, i.e. Take Off Your Pants And Jacket (2001), Box Car Racer (2002), Self-titled (2003), +44 (2006), Neighborhoods (2011). More content under the blink-182 banner for blink fans, and more stream revenue for you. Win for everyone.
