Eight months ago, I moved to Atlanta. I quickly fell in love with the city — for many reasons, not least of which is the free art community known as #FAFATL. After stumbling upon the movement, @wandwoods and I first got involved as "hunters" but soon began dropping some art around town ourselves. It's been a fun adventure, so we couldn't resist participating in #FAFSS —a Secret Santa organized by @RockIt_ATL (Twitter and IG). Culminating in a great party hosted by @probableigh (Twitter and IG), where we finally put faces and names to handles, #FAFSS was a blast. In addition to receiving an awesome gift (details to come in upcoming post) from @storeyland (Twitter and IG), I had the opportunity to create a mixed media piece for @Sticks_nStones (Twitter and IG).
The piece — titled "go back to the original message" — features several original photographs transferred onto canvas, acrylic paint, and a new poem written on the four sides with a branch stick and black ink. I hope the recipient enjoys. Cheers to the #FAFATL community.
