The Knight would never say such a thing to someone he barely knew. Especially when a child would be involved with such if the feeling were reciprocated. Yet some compulsion made him spit it through clenched teeth.

74- “Never Apologize to People, They don’t deserve it”

Every once in a while Kallimath found himself in the company of Mira’s old friend Fae. Rarely was it by choice, more so by coincidence, but she was a tolerable person and they didn’t have much reason to detest each other so he could never complain.

They were strolling around the City in mostly silence. Kallimath only made the occasional remark to something Fae said. He still didn’t know her well enough to pursue active conversation so he let her do all of the talking for the most part. They were making a pass through the Row when she accidentally bumped into some man who wasn’t paying attention to where he was going. She was going through the motions of apology when the man exploded in profanities and attitude. “Don’t fucking touch me again you stupid cunt. I’ll knock out your teeth next time.”

Mira had been studying for what seemed like days, having gotten used to the constant focus her new found power demanded she lasted a few hours before starting to give up. The grumbles started, growing slowly to under her breath swearing, then to outright tossing out curses to every imp or demon that roamed the room in front of her. The frustration became overwhelming, causing the warlock to slam the book closed at the exact moment Faelyrii flopped onto the couch next to her, leaning on the redhead's shoulder.

The mage ignored the anger, flipping open the pages to her tome while using Mira as a back rest as she scooted closer to get comfortable.

"Excuse me. Im trying to have a moment here..." Mira grumbled, pointing at the book which seemed to be leaking some sort of dark magic.

"Mhmm.. Thats nice dear." Complete dismissal with an accompanied over the shoulder pat on the head. Typical of the frigid woman. For the first time ever her cold demeanor defused the situation, causing the warlock to lean back against the fluff of the couch, pulling Fae almost into her lap so the two were damn near intertwined.

An imp hopped onto the table, taking the leatherbound pages to its Mistress without any resistance or a spoken word. "I hate you, I hope you know that..." she muttered, running the fingers of her free hand through the cool white hair of her friend, letting the parchment open where it wanted her to read.

The warlock was no stranger to having Fae passed out on her lap, nor was Fae foreign to the horrible things that were done to her when she allowed herself to get tired enough to allow for a situation to arise. Mira did what any good friend would do, waiting until Fae was fast asleep, sloooowly pulling the blanket up over her head and shifting slightly before laughing quietly to herself.

It was only a matter of time before Fae would wake up.
