I've always wondered what the thing is that Faden holds that launches those blighted arcane projectiles. It sorta looked like a vase to me or a bag or something and I went 'ah, ok' and forgot about it...

Until now...

So in the official artbook for the game there's extra artwork and some added text. The rough translation on Faden's page says that the "object" was something left behind by Muriel.

And then I go an look at HER page because she's got one too. This one drops a bombshell. It says Miriel was pregnant when she was blighted (By the way it ALSO says she became "infected" when she protected Faden during an experiment so she took the hit for him).

So I went back to Faden's art...and in the idle pose (the one at respites) you can see the thing he's holding has what looks like feet and a tail....
