1. she's a dragon sister !! i was put off by how little abilities they have in canon contrary to fairykind/shadow charmers so i decided to give them limited elemental manipulation to mirror dragon breaths (in her case it's fire)

2. was present during lost mesa and obsidian waste but not wyrmroost (lore reasons, sabotaged by evening star to ensure gavin would replace her)

3. she's a knight of the dawn but doesn't have as strict moral code as the rest of them, joined mainly for personal benefit (quits during dragonwatch)

4. her grandmother was from selona making her part fair folk but she doesn't exhibit any abilities?? her life span is the same as any other human, she knows some silvian words but that's it. however i can imagine ronodin teaching her some more

5. unhealthy coping mechanism final boss, addicted to bottled-up emotions (pre dragonwatch) clarification: it's not romanticised !!!

6. she's inspired by me but isn't my self insert!! although some aspects of her character are based on my own she has a different morality than i do, she's her own character. i don't support her actions (had to say it for some ppl who assume liking antagonists means you'd do everything they've done)

7. she's a fairly new knight !! she joined at 20 (3 years) unlike characters like warren, tanu, coulter etc

8. follows the same beliefs dragons do, very religious in that matter (think of gavin getting mad at the exhibition in lost mesa) doesn't celebrate holidays like christmas, easter etc

9. sometimes i pair her up with the sphinx !! if one day i decide to post about them just know it's more of a crackship rather than an actual relationship she had

10. i have multiple aus with her and in one of them she's dead, killed by merek (joins the echoland with entire beyonders cast and callista/j) i also have a swap au with her and ronodin but the lore is kinda crazy

So it all started when I was like: “what if they call themselves Zzyzx tour guide… because their name is literally Zzyzx and they’ve been there since it was first made”

“Zzyzx is literally named after them?”

You bet

Now WHY would this demon in particular have the demon prison named after them? Wonderful question nobody asked!

Zzyzx is a very old type of demon, descendant of some of the first ever demons. (And the last one of their specific subgroup of demons) Unlike others. Zzyzx’s type of demon ages even slower, if they age at all, having a life span that can rival that of even the first fairy queen.

Since Zzyzx’s ancestors were, well, BAD for the world and nearly invincible: Zzyzx was locked away in the demon prison (not killed off or properly subdued like the others on the basis of being a little guy-

Or in comprehensible words:

Zzyzx is VERY young in comparison to their actual lifespan and hadn’t proven to be a threat yet )

None of the other demons would actually be familiar with them due to:

None of their ancestors being around to protect them or prove their ancestry

Zzyzx being too young to even remember or have been properly taught anything about said ancestry other than natural instincts

Zzyzx absolutely ADORES mortals and is often in a hybrid demon/mortal avatar that hides their true form (the demons simply think “Zzyzx tour guide is NOT a reference to their name”)

I could totally see them getting pushed around a lot as they wouldn’t fight back (but always bounce back)

Maybe the demons would cast them aside once the fairy realm opened (because HELL no they’re not dealing with this menace tour guide for longer than they have already) and Zzyzx now dwells as a left-over demon in the new fairy realm

Imagine the fairy queen finding that.

Family: Her grandparents were the caretakers of Soaring Cliffs, but they died when she was four. Her parents are the current caretakers of Soaring Cliffs. Her older brother, Ryan, is the current gamekeeper of Soaring Cliffs and will likely become the caretaker eventually.

Backstory:

- Her family was believe to have been involved with the foundling of Dragonwatch. This is partially due to their history of being dragonslayers and being resistant to dragon fear.

- Megan was born in 1988 and is roughly 24 at the beginning of Fablehaven. She’s roughly 27 during Dragonwatch.

- Her father’s brother was a Knight if the Dawn and when it was determined that Ryan would likely become caretaker, he suggested that his niece become a Knight of the Dawn. The then 17 year old Megan jumped that the chance and began training.

- She joined the Knights at age 18, and met Warren Burgess shortly afterward. The two became fast friends.

Role:

- I haven’t worked out what exactly her full involvement in the events if Fablehaven is, but will certainly update as I figure it out.

- Is likely on that mission of Wyrmroost that Kendra goes on, since she’s dragons are literally her specialty.

- Participates in the battle of the Zzyzz(did I spell that right?).

- During Dragonwatch, she will be mentioned as going to Soaring Cliffs to help her family, which is why she isn’t a candidate for Wyrmroost caretaker.

- She is trapped in the sanctuary with her brother when it falls and after he is wounded, she is forced to slay a dragon to save him.
