It’s been so good. The views are amazing and I’m actually pretty surprised that I didn’t completely lose fitness in the last 15 months bc I was able to do some pretty strenuous trails. The only problem is that it’s so remote and there’s literally no cell phone service or data anywhere and I’m so bad at disconnecting lol.

i just googled the car and it looks so good! and that’s the extent i know about cars lmaooo what colour did you get?
Black! I have this thing where I only ever owned white cars (my last was a white bmw 4 series) but because of covid, stock on white cars is so limited and if I wanted that one, I would have had to get it shipped from Germany and that costs a lot and it’s not worth it for just aesthetics. But I think the black looks pretty good and hopefully I’ll get used to it soon!!

eileen fisher for office wear because they have petites and I’m tiny. they’re also sustainable and their work practices have been verified and they’re really good at how they handle overseas supply chain. they’re really pricey though but honestly if you have a job that requires proper dress pants and other office wear, I can’t recommend it enough because I bought a lot of my trousers and stuff years ago and they’re still perfect and I don’t do anything fancy to take care of them. in the uk you can buy it through John lewis but also directly ordering from their site works too.
I like thought and everlane for basics. they’re nothing fancy but I dress pretty neutrally in general so it works for me, but even then, you can honestly get really good t-shirts and jeans that last forever. also one of the best parts of everlane is that they have a pay what you want feature on a lot of things which def helps affordability. oh and a thing I love about thought is that everything is manufactured in one place so it won’t be shipped all over the place - which is the main way places like Zara abuse workers.
I looooooove petite studio which doesn’t work for everyone obviously but they have really cute clothes for smaller frames and I mostly trust their labor practices.
komodo is another place for excellent basics and really nice prints.
this is a French company I’m obsessed with and ordered a few times from and the quality is amaaaaaazing. Another French company that’s like PEAK French fashion which personally works for me and my style. And the best part of Ekyog is that it has a very easily traceable supply chain so you can see where they manufacture everything and their wage practices.
Lemlem is expensive as hell but it’s an Ethiopian company and everything is made by Ethiopian artisans who also work with Rwandan and I think (?) Kenya and I got a bikini from them last summer and it’s fantastic and it’s literally the best thing I’ve ever owned? An Ethiopian supermodel named Liya Kebede who wanted to create a market for local artisans who are finding it hard to showcase their craft in a modern fast fashion world founded the company. Honestly I saw a talk that she did and it kinda made me check out the company and then I loved the bikini I got. I can’t vouch for other things but their swimwear is good imo
Also not exactly sustainable fashion but I’ve kinda gotten into a habit of just saving money and buying less and just going for like Club Monaco and Reiss and places like that which are entirely too expensive to regularly shop from, but their practices are better than like Zara and Topshop (say nothing of like missguided/boohoo/pretty little thing/new look who’s practices are scary bad). H&M does have a sustainable section which APPARENTLY is more ~ethical but like I don’t trust a company that has two different practices for two different sections on the same website. I think I might have just grown out of shopping as much though lol
i’m very intrigued by this complex album listening process you have?
oh I listen to albums in three steps.
the first is listening to it casually while doing something else (in this case work today) to see how good it works for me as background music. then I’ll listen to it properly song by song to take in each song, and I’ll listen to it by following along with the lyrics just in case I miss something. then the third time I’ll separate the songs I like from those that I don’t and that’s when I finally decide whether I like an album overall or not?
