Rangers and Allies Unite!

Hello team! It is with great pleasure that I announce the reopening of Fusion Freeks on Monday, April 30th at 6:00pm EST. How exciting!

Largely, we will operate as we did prior to break. The admin team has returned— in full— with the addition of LJ who has graciously agreed to help us out. What this means is, you now have four points of contact: Devin (Bianca), Michelle (Syria), LJ (Eury, Liam), and myself (Rory). Given our different time zones and careers, somebody should almost always be around for questions. That said, if you require a relatively rapid response, we encourage you to message me, Michelle, or LJ directly as Devin is quite busy with her studies.  

And now for the details.

That leaves (and this is new) five spots open for grabs. Opportunities include five Earthlings OR another species that may or may not have been picked up by team evil.

Each member can have a maximum of two characters, but if activity falls to a particularly low proportion, we may ask that you stick to one.

Note: If your character starts evil, you are under no obligation to keep them in that position. Additionally, we would like to avoid casting characters that appear to be too strong and/or invincible. Our characters need flaws and weaknesses!

We encourage everyone to use a faceclaim that speaks to them and their muse! However, due to the content of this roleplay, we ask that all applicants apply with faceclaims age 18 or over. And please, no YouTube personalities.

P L O T

In the past, we have provided a timeline presenting step-by-step plots for each individual character, but what we’ve learned is that the task is both daunting and nearly impossible to keep up with given our daily activities. 

So, while attempting to remedy this, we’ve decided that each individual player is responsible for the development and progress of their own character. The admin team will continue to drop plots involving team evil, but we are all responsible for the follow up. It is crucial that everyone follow these posts (tagged f:plotdrop) in order for their characters to react appropriately and do what needs to be done to resolve the issue. Otherwise, New York City will fall to Devone while dissolving into some sort of dystopian land. Believe me when I say— nobody wants that! 

What this all breaks down to is this— the admins will drop plots such as “Devone cuts the power” or “Devone continues to dig his underground tunnels unbeknownst to the rangers,” and it is  your responsibility to try to resolve and/or discover those things. If Rory and Syria want to have a Mighty Ducks marathon, that’s on us, but if Devone attacks Griffin (for example), that’s on everyone.

A C T I V I T Y

And finally, writing is not meant to be a chore. It’s meant to be fun, and we shouldn’t feel guilty about taking time off when we need to or dealing with other obligations. However, activity (as we’ve seen) is key to keeping this RP alive. To monitor this, we will be having activity checks, but don’t stress. We’re asking for conversational (ie. texts, convos, paras, etc) posts every four days. On the fourth day without posting, a public warning is issued and a message will be sent to check in. If 24 hours pass with no contact, you will be removed from the roleplay.

We aren’t doing this to be jerks. We just want to ensure the survival of our writing group, and should this happen to you, you are more than welcome to hit us up for your role (assuming that it is still open). We do ask, however, that this doesn’t become an ongoing problem. 

More or less, we’d like to see activity 2-3 days a week if at all possible. That is the goal, but we realize that this isn’t always realistic! Just do you’re best, and it’ll all work out.

Hello Everybody--

It’s been a long while since we’ve followed any sort of structure here at Fusion, and that is totally fine! You have all done a wonderful job at finding things for your characters to do, much of which has simply been making connections with the other characters in the group. This groundwork is super valuable and we appreciate that you guys have been creative enough to take the reigns while the timeline hasn’t been around to supplement the overall story. But, with a story like ours, we have to have some sort of structure.

That being said, Steph, Michelle, and I have spent a lot of time shifting things around and we have finally landed on a timeline that will hopefully be here to stay! Things are always subject to change, but I’ve tried to keep it where we only have one major plot to focus on at a time. Once that story comes to a close, we can have a catch up week to regroup and then we will transition into the next major plot. I hope that this format will be easier with the pace of our group!

Finally, just as another reminder, we do still wish to keep the 2-day activity rule. We haven’t enforced it and I would prefer if we didn’t have to, but if you guys could be sure to try and update your blogs every few days that would be great! As of right now, we have three players on hiatus hiatus. If this needs to change, please just let us know.

Additionally, I’d like to remind everyone to please check the f:starter tag from time to time. We’re a relatively easy going group, but it’s still super easy to miss someone’s post if we’re not careful. That said, we know it’s not realistic to reply to every single starter... Sometimes, the context doesn’t fit your character or if you have a couple of conversations going already, it doesn’t make sense to add more. That’s totally fine, but also keep in mind that it’s okay to start and end conversations at any given time! We just want to make sure that everybody’s getting the proper love they deserve, so just please, please, please be conscious of that 😋  To assist with this, I’m going to include them on the weekly plot drops, which will now be posted on the main every week. HIATUS UPDATE →

The following players have requested a hiatus/semi-hiatus from the current plots and are thus exempt from the three-day activity rule.

Additionally, we’d like to remind everyone of the three-day activity rule. We’ve been in a bit of a lull lately, but I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep activity up. We fully understand that things happen, but we’d really appreciate it if everyone could continue to progress our ongoing plots the best that we can. Hello friends! I’ve returned from hiatus to see very little activity around here, and it’s rather concerning. According to our own activity rules, the vast majority of us should already be released from roles. However, I’ve always had a problem doing this due to our close-knit relationships with each other. 

The thing is—we started this thing together. And it’s always been beautiful. This started way back when when it was this little bloop in my mind and together, we’ve created this massive world, and it’s meant everything. So understand when it feels a little shitty to unfollow most of the group after an activity post. It wouldn’t feel good nor right, and I’d much rather make the decision to stay open or close together with dignity. 

Please note that this post isn’t intended to upset, offend, or pressure anyone. Activity is the responsibility of us all, and I completely understand that people are busy. Summer is a crazy time of year and the end of the year can get even crazier. I’m not going to be upset or angry with anyone if we decide to let this place go. However, I do request that everyone be completely honest, because if writing here isn’t fun or you simply don’t have time for it—we need to know. Because we can’t keep going like this. It’s impossible to keep plots moving, and it kills the muse of those who can be around. 

So—we have four days. On Tuesday, June 19th, the responses will be collected and a decision will be made. 

Should we choose to stay open, I will make a post with Tommy and/or Kat indicating a plot. Should we close, Danielle has graciously offered everyone who wishes to continue writing a spot at her RP though backstory (and some face claims) will need to be altered in order to fit the theme. 

However we proceed, it’s been a wonderful experience writing with you all, and I’ve never been so proud to be a part of a group. Thank you. 

Hello, my lovelies. 

Just a reminder that Fusion will be reopening Monday, April 30th at 6:00pm EST! 

First things first— the following players will be joining us slightly later due to finals:

If any other player needs more time to prepare, please contact an admin! Otherwise, we wish you guys luck on your finals. (And if it makes you feel any better, your character can sucker punch Devone in the face.) Which means if anyone has any questions or needs help feel free to contact Me or LJ. 

As you have probably seen, we have two new characters joining our family. Cameron Mercer (played by Amy) and Jeff (played by Mo). Oh, and Kayden (played by me) has her own blog. So look out for the links to follow them!    Now we must keep in mind that 6 months have gone by. Which is a pretty long ass time, and a lot of things could have happened. You can do flashback Paras or F2Fs of what has happened in that time. Please keep in mind that if you are going to do a solo para and you mention another character, the person playing that character might not want their character involved. Even though we haven’t had any issues with anyone here, Godmoding another person’s character is not allowed. Just ask. I believe most us are alright if our characters are Godmoded a little. Not only that, but I think we all pretty much have gotten to know each other by now. So, we should know what we can or can’t do. Example of what not to do: Let’s say Steph wants to write a solo para where Rory shaves Griffin’s hair. I don’t think Amy or Devin would be cool with a bald Griffin. Example of what is ok: LJ wants to write a solo para where she is thinking about Kayden “wrecking” her. I am fine with that. With that said, if you have any issues with how you want to jump back into things, feel free to ask for some help. It’s one of the reasons why we have admins and an OOC blog (the OOC blog is just for poking fun at each other). I am sure we all can come up with amazing ideas. 

Umm.... I think this turned into a rant so I’ll stop here.

Please take a moment to consider your options here at Fusion. Admin S has detailed options in the OOC Blog and we are willing to be flexible with whatever you may choose. However, it is vital that we move our plot forward. For those of us who were part of the original cast, we know how fun and productive things can be when we follow our timeline on schedule! This is why activity will be monitored from here on out. 

Remember that we require players to post at least once (content related posts only! no photos, music, etc.- though you are encouraged to post these as well!]) every two days. 

After two days of inactivity, the player will be placed on activity watch and will then have exactly 24 hours to post on their blog or the role will be reopened.
