Not What I Expected || Talon & Nadia
It had been nearly a month since the kidnapping. Twenty-nine days. A part of her---the little weapon still caged in her mind---told her that twenty-nine days was more than enough time to be over it. She wasn’t, though, so she decided it was time to fight her demons a different, but familiar, way.
As she turned and walked out of the gym, her metallic veins reflected the fluorescent lights above head. It wasn’t the first gym she looked at, because she wasn’t sure what she was looking for. Somewhere she could train harder than the equipment at the apartments’ gym allowed. Maybe it was time to dust off her martial arts training, if she could find a place that didn’t mind mutants and wouldn’t get nosy about where her previous training came from. She could always hire Pietro to train her, but something felt wrong about mixing her past with someone in her present, even if Pietro knew more about it than most. Regardless, she hadn’t found what she was searching for there and headed into the cold air, leaving behind several staring gym members and employees.
One man followed, and Nadia counted the seconds---one, two, three---before she felt confident it was intentional and spun around. “Do you mind?!”
