Finn was more nervous than he wanted to admit when planning River's surprise birthday celebration. He wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for his big day, especially since it was the last party of the day. He hadn't wanted to intrude on his other plans and what Finn had planned couldn't be completed in a crowd of people. He had forgone trivial gifts, although he did buy him one thing, and instead opted for the more fun sort of birthday, where you kidnap them for the day and take them somewhere. Today it was to the pier. Finn loved carnivals and roller coasters and he hoped that he had read River correctly when he assumed that he would as well. After checking on the animals at the shelter, he made his way to River's house, holding the gift in one hand, and knocked on the door.
