"Above Fuglafjørður" by Sax Impey. Charcoal on paper, 95 x 130 cm. Fuglafjørður is Faroese for "fjord of birds" and is the name of the village in that fjord on Eysturoy (East Island), 2nd largest of the Føroyar (Faroe Islands).
"Kambsenni" by Sax Impey. Charcoal on paper, 78 x 130 cm. Kambsenni is a mountain in the Faroe Islands (Føroyar), which are between Iceland, Norway and the Shetland Islands of Scotland. Anima Mundi Gallery, on the Exhibition, 5 Sept to 18 Oct '25: "Anima Mundi are delighted to present Føroyar, the latest solo exhibition from environmental artist and mariner Sax Impey.
Impey’s practice is inseparable from direct encounter. Having sailed thousands of miles across some of the earth’s most challenging waters, his work is informed not by distant observation but by ongoing immersion in the elemental.

I’ve just recently finished the first volume of the Oldtidssagaerne, and can personally recommend specifically the Vølsungernes saga!
