Dear Galvatron, why do you keep your old body whenever you reformat instead of taking on a new body like some of your other counterparts?
Typical fleshling arrogance, to presume that appearances cannot be deceiving. Beneath cold steel, each metamorphosis I attain is holistic and absolute. Every system in my body transforms with me, evolves with me, in pursuit of absolute dominance. My power grows in orders of magnitude; my capacity for conquest cannot be matched.
As for why changes to my outward appearance may appear limited to chromatic aberration—I will use language you might stand a chance of grasping.

Yes, but that was just the beginning! Both Blaster and Soundwave discovered Daft Punk in the late 2000s. Soundwave immediately began to use their music as a medium in which he could transmit encoded messages meant only for other Decepticons. This was not only useful Decepticon cryptography, but it also required other Decepticons to listen carefully to Soundwave's playlist to discover hidden messages and discuss his musical tastes. Eventually, Blaster detected the presence of the secret communications and left a message of his own: "I'm harder, better, faster, and stronger than you." Soon the two traded insults with each other over an encrypted medium only they could detect but, over time, began to share their impressions of the music. Though they remained bitter enemies on the battlefield, they enjoyed a begrudging respect for each other, as very few Cybertronians could appreciate music on as many levels as they could.
After the group disbanded, both Autobot and Decepticon communications on Earth observed sixty seconds of radio silence.

It took time and effort for both family members to bridge the vast gulf between them, but eventually the two reached an understanding. Still, Verity had not lost her taste for adventure, and, with her mother’s blessing, hit the road with a new mission: to help people wherever she could, wrecking the past and building a new future where everyone could rule.
Disillusioned from his repeated encounters with the Cybertronians, Jimmy Pink was not pleased at the prospect of having to share a planet with the Transformers. However, he could not bring himself to join any of the many human-supremacist groups that rose and fell as the citizens of Earth readjusted; he contented himself with fixing cars and broken machinery in his garage, but remained paranoid that one of his projects might some day talk back.
Spike Witwicky—brave, foolhardy, reckless—was sidelined during the final battle against Unicron and the Maximals. In the coming years, he tried to claim that he had played a pivotal role in the fight, even going so far as to write a tell-all memoir about his time with the "real" Optimus Prime, but his bid for fame quickly failed when Talon revealed that he was a fraud. After his dishonorable discharge from G.I. Joe, he went on to the talk show circuit for some time until a candid, drunken meltdown on live TV prematurely ended his aspirations.
Joe Colton did everything he could against the Maximals when Unicron arrived; once the threat had passed, he promptly returned to his prison cell, overwhelmed with guilt and shame that he had—at least in part—played right into Shockwave’s long game by bringing the Talisman to Cybertron and nearly dooming Earth. When Miles Mayhem and the other members of the Iron Ring escaped their handlers and went underground, they made repeated entreaties to recruit “Baron Ironblood” to their cause once more. Colton stoically refused: he had lost his war, and would never take up arms again.

Dear Vector Prime, Did the Grimlock being held prisoner on the Alchemor meet the Grimlock who led the Lightning Strike Coalition?

Two Grimlocks? Ah, I believe you are referring to a tale recounted to a Uniend version of myself by my brother Micronus. His telling seemed accurate, if rather insulting, so I shall do my best to properly convey it.
Though Shockwave’s initial experiments in creating super soldiers from alien life ended in a tower being dropped on him, he still found the basic results acceptable. Initially focused on recruiting loyal test subjects through the Forged cult, he also began growing these animalistic warriors from scratch following pressures to provide them in ever-greater numbers. While many of these new subspecies would go on to found their own fascinating societies and cultures, particularly in the criminal underworld, Shockwave kept his new Dinobots on a tight leash, intending for them to be dropped on targets marked for devastation. Micronus told me that they were “bred for stupidity”, but I believe it to be more likely that Shockwave simply left them undereducated. Under the harsh eyes of Shockwave's Insecticon guards, whispers spread throughout these sheltered ‘bots of five Autobots who rejected the restrictive law of Shockwave, wreathed in lightning and led by a warrior named Grimlock.
The younger Grimlock was one such next-gen Dinobot, born in one of Shockwave’s pens in Kaon, near the end of the war. Then known as Clobber, he earned the name of Grimlock from his fellow Dinobots after accidentally orchestrating a breakout from the pens, simply raising the point that if they could smash anything, why not smash the pen walls? From there, Grimlock made his way towards the now-rebuilt city of Iacon, the war having ended. Seeing some former Vehicons assisting in construction, he tried to start a game of lobbing; unfortunately, security forces mistook him for a Decepticon soldier, arrested him for damages, and eventually imprisoned him on board the Alchemor. He went on to experience many adventures with Bumblebee and his team of erstwhile peacekeepers, ultimately helping destroy the hidden Decepticon loyalists who composed the new Cybertronian government. This attracted the attention of the original Autobot Lightning Strike Coalition, who had been exiled among other Autobot war heroes. Though Swoop, Slug, Snarl and Sludge welcomed him to the team, the original Grimlock had not returned with them, having come to distrust the Cybertronian status quo as a whole. He left only a message for the young warrior: “Now, you Grimlock”.
Dear Vector Prime, was Quickstrike always as aggressive as he was during the Beast Wars, or did something happen to him before/while he was in a protoform pod?

You are correct that something did happen to Quickstrike while he was in the protoform pod, as he was infused with two separate beast modes. However, he was "born" during the Beast Wars—a fresh protoform—and as such had no prior existence or memories; he was aggressive simply because that was his nature. While some have claimed the quantum surge negatively affected his mind, bringing his aggressive instincts to the fore, I don't believe this to be so. I've encountered Quickstrikes who never were involved in the Beast Wars, who were never exposed to quantum surges, and they all have the same obnoxious personality. If anything, his beast modes seem to have had a stronger effect on his accent than his disposition—I confess, I have never understood why Ironhide thought that was important to include as an option in all protoform programming.
While yet to be encountered, would it be possible for a Cybertronian to be assimilated by the Borg?

From my understanding of the universe of which you speak, I suppose such a feat is possible—but I dearly hope that such an event does not come to pass. The idea of a species like the Borg misappropriating Cybertronian technology to aid in their wars of conquest and assimilation is a chilling prospect indeed, and I hope that Fortress Tiberius and his crew steer clear from their region of space.
