YOU are VALID ♡♡
(Ft Me with my Transids!!)
PSA: My eye issues have gotten worse. I'm going to need to take a break from being online, per doctor's orders.
I've been diagnosed with narrow angle glaucoma, which means I'll need to have procedure done to relieve pressure. I also have extreme eye fatigue and extreme dry eyes. I'm getting treatment and part of it is resting my eyes, which means limiting being online.
This pains me because I'm having so much fun with you guys and I know everyone is excited about all the #stepham news. My plan is to take a break until the Outlander premiere in March. I know someone going and also people going to other events and I want to be able to send you any pics, videos, and info.
So, I will periodically check my account until then, but I won't be answering Anons or DMs unless it's major news. Please continue to send me any breaking news or sightings. I'll try to post those if my eyes allow.
I'm really sorry guys, I'm so bummed about this. But I can't ignore my eye issues anymore. I'm in a lot of pain. I may have to take a few days off work. For the haters who will say I'm lying and this means I've been "spoken to," WRONG. If that were the case, my blog wouldn't still be here and I wouldn't be coming back in March or before to post.
Anyhoo, pls still send me anything MAJOR. And I'll see you guys soon, but definitely in March for the premiere.
I have an open appointment at the Emergency Eye Clinic today, after the opticians found "swelling or inflammation" on my optic nerve on Monday. They initially didn't explain that and just said they were referring me due to an issue I have had since 2019 - I get vision like I've crossed my eyes and the sensation in the eye muscles like I've crossed my eyes, but my eyes stay looking straight. That still needs looking at, and I'll bring it up fully today, but it's not their main concern. After talking on the phone the following day, they explained the inflammation/swelling and suggested it needed to be properly investigated.
There are two possibilities - glaucoma (increased eye pressure), or the Rheumatoid Arthritis has "found my eye" and can/will eventually destroy it.
Neither option sounds great, but the glaucoma (if early enough) can be managed/treated with drops or medication. Never in my life did I think I'd be crossing my fingers for glaucoma. But I'd rather that, which is more likely able to be managed, than the RA damaging the eye because the two instances I've read on/know about that the people lost their eye.
So...wish me luck as I sit at the hospital for hours!
Eugh I want my glasses back but the soonest I'll get them is by Monday, and until then I'm just miserable in migraine town
I'm getting the right lens adjusted to add a prism lens, so I've been wearing my old glasses for over a week now. And the prescription is out of date, my astigmatism isn't properly accounted for, and there's worse glare with these lenses-- all an awful recipe for migraine central.
And I know once I get my glasses back I'll probably still be in migraine town for at least a few days as I adjust back to my current prescription. The astigmatism compensation is pretty severe, and I'm also nervous about adjusting to a prism lens for the first time
It's only a small prism adjustment (a +1 base out on the right lens only), but the test strips I looked through at the eye doc felt Good, so I'm trying to be optimistic.
I think I'm ultimately just very nervous, hoping the prism helps as much as I hope it does, and migraines just ain't helping the nerves

Anyone else get ocular migraines?
If so do you experience pain with them? I do not. I have strange shapes that scintillate with patterns and colors.
i’m so upset. i can barely see. my right eye is making up for my left eye and i can’t see the specialist until the 27th of october and my vision is rapidly getting worse. i can’t barely function at school. my glasses just make it worse because my right prescription is wrong. “he says it’s right” then why can’t i see out of it. i started crying because i can’t fucking see, i can’t read, i can’t write, and she goes “did you fill your meds?”. every time im upset recently she just asks if ive taken my meds or filled my prescription. i’m so fucking frustrated i just want my eye fixed and my emotions to be seen normally
Y'all I just came back from the ophthalmologist (the eye doctor) and she told me to put drops in my eyes to relax them and make the tests more accurate
But now i look baked T^T
Also the tears are not from the drops but from my hypersensitivity to light. I was already very easily dazzled, but now i can walk outside with shades and i’ll still have to squint.
For reference, this is how my surroundings look like without shades:
Also close up on my eye so you can see how dilated the pupil is:
It’ll stay like that for the next 24 hours help
