WHY is Biden being allowed communion?
I just read on the news that not only was Biden allowed communion all his years as VP, the new DC cardinal says he will continue to not deny Biden communion. I read some BS article on “~America Magazine~” said the reason for this is:
“The kind of relationship that I hope we will have is a conversational relationship where we can discover areas where we can cooperate that reflect the social teachings of the church, knowing full well that there are some areas where we won’t agree,” the cardinal-designate said. (x)
Am I missing something? Is there something I’m not getting? Is the Eucharist not the body and blood of Jesus now? Does receiving not mean you are in full communion with the Church and the teachings anymore? Are we allowed to have unrepented sins on our consciences when receiving now? Because the Church doesn’t want to have a bad relationship with the president? Giving him communion is TELLING HIM HIS PUBLIC STANCES ARE OKAY and that they have no spiritual consequences! Not to mention receiving communion unworthily is desecrating Christ’s literal body, blood, soul, and divinity.
Like I want to make clear this is not a post about Biden per se, it’s about who is allowing him to get communion. @spiritualdirections I am being honest when I ask, is there something I’m not understanding or taking into account, or are the American Cardinals and bishops in the wrong here?
