Saw a few other peeps making yearly art compilation posts like this, so thought I'd join in. XD There were a lot of months this year I didn't draw anything due to a lot going on (save for patreon pieces, which I will not be including in this post!), but I thought it'd be nice to look back and see what I did manage to do this year!

January

Started off the year nice and quiet with an illustration for @cryptidsofwakemoor, featuring Charlie and Tikki! Tikki belongs to @mysticdoodles, of course >w<

March

I REALLY went crazy with drawing this month! I have no idea how I managed all that but it deffo felt like a lightning in a bottle moment. XD But yeah March was apparently the Month of Jabber! (I think it was shortly after the game I played him in had concluded?) ALSO you may have noticed a drawing there I haven't posted before (I kept meaning to and never got around to it gkhfg) but it features the Batter from off and a sort of retro arcade expy named Abner made by @arsonsara! I have more art of him, but it was made in 2024 so perhaps I'll just have that in a separate post later. .w.

April

All I got in terms of visual art for April is this sketch study of how Frank looks from the front n' side. XD ; But hey, it's somethin'!

But speaking of Frank, I'd say my biggest accomplishment for this month was finishing up my short story I Only Have E̢̡y͓͜e̞͖̦ for You! If you happen to like toon shenanigans and cosmic horror, give it a read perchance! *batting my eyelashes and sniling so sneetly at u*

May

Lotsa Frank to make it through May, the first one being an illustration I made for the aforementioned story I Only Have E̢̡y͓͜e̞͖̦ for You! The Charlie sketch is a sequel to the one drawing I ever did of Spamton (and Charlie was there too)!

May was also the month I posted my second Frank n' Sailboat Ollie short story, To Be Redesigned!

July

Didn't have time for Art Fight this year since I was moving, but at least I had time for this Family Guy meme. XD ;

August

August was apparently the month of Frank experiencing existential dread, because it was also the month I posted this written work: Still Just a Rat in a Cage!

more Art Fight attacks! these are some of the ones I'm proudest of this year. my first time trying physical attacks, plus a silly fun meme redraw heheh 🧡

So, here’s another character design I did for that No Hopers Challenge-thing. She’s a Spawn of Yog-Sothoth called Yogu-Chan who’s a stand in-for Shrek and her life is despair and sadness!

And yes, I deliberately chose the Dunwich Horror to base the Shrek expy on because; in a more sympathetic reading, you could totally combine those two narratives.

This book was good. I loved every single ridiculous moment, along with its destruction, reconstruction, the villains and the main characters, though I need to re-read and re-re-read to understand one plot point that I still can’t get. 

Also, some of the dialogue goes like this-

X: Hi.

Y: Hey.

Like a script, is that a new trend for novels to have? I don’t really like it. But it didn’t detract my overall enjoyment. And I know how the characters and book itself is taking inspiration from Scooby-Doo and its many, many rip offs- the dog sidekick, the monster is a crook in a mask, having two boys and two girls (and one character being the object of affection of two others, in fanon anyway)- but it also goes more into the Kid Detective books. I grew up loving The Boxcar Children and something about the book reminded me of them, plus Encyclopedia Brown, The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and probably others. And than there’s the escalation- the kids, now in their twenties, wanting closure and answers on a night that pretty much destroyed their lives, and it ends up being a Save The World event.
