⚡️Expeditions: Samurai just hit Steam Early Access, and players are NOT impressed. The new dev team fumbled the franchise: 56% approval, visuals and AI a step down from previous Expeditions games. It's a tactical RPG in Sengoku-era Japan: manage your squad, use diplomacy or stealth, 2-player co-op, 5 story missions included. Full release, Q1 2027. The combat system, which stayed intact, is the only highlight. Risky buy, for sure 🤨

In this early state, Expeditions: Samurai is already looking to be an enjoyable experience for fans of RPGs and historical tales. Even so, there are clear points to improve when it comes to player feedback, unclear systems and other small details that players may not get. With the solid pillars of the gameplay and the story populated with some vivid characters, the potential for a stellar game is all there, and it’s now up to the developers to keep it flourishing until the 1.0 release.

The studio explains why Expeditions: Samurai is going Steam Early Access 🔥 In the third dev diary, «Behind Early Access», they say they want early community feedback, leaning on past open betas and Kickstarter campaigns. The launch build includes the first full act: 5 main and 3 side quests, about 6-8 hours of play. All saves from the early version will be fully compatible with the final release, no need to replay content 👍
