The Soyuz MS-02 spacecraft is seen as it lands with Expedition 50 Commander Shane Kimbrough of NASA and Flight Engineers Sergey Ryzhikov and Andrey Borisenko of Roscosmos near the town of Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan on Monday, April 10, 2017 (Kazakh time). The vapor coming off of the Soyuz is from the leftover hydrogen peroxide fuel being purged from the capsule. Kimbrough, Ryzhikov, and Borisenko landed after 173 days in space where they served as members of the Expedition 49 and 50 crews onboard the International Space Station. The hatch to HTV-6 was opened yesterday, two days after arriving at the International Space Station. Posing for their first six-person crew portrait, the members of Expedition 50 are seen inside the newly-opened cargo freighter. From Russian Oleg Novitskiy (in red, clockwise is: ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet, Commander Shane Kimbrough, Peggy Whitson, Russians Andrew Borisenko, and Sergei Ryzhikov.
Controlling the robotic berthing operations of HTV-6 this morning were Expedition 50 crew members Thomas Pesquet and Shane Kimbrough seen above. The spacecraft is less than 30 meters away from the two astronauts, who are in the station's cupola. HTV-6 arrived at the space station early Tuesday morning, bringing eight tons of cargo and new batteries to the orbiting complex. P/C: NASA
