After her successful acting gig at the beginning of the year, BEE’s lead vocal Jiah is covering the latest volume of ELLE Korea. This is Jiah’s first solo magazine cover since her debut in 2010.

In the pictures, she can be seen wearing multiple white-colored outfits against a plain background and still managing to look very charismatic and elegant for the photoshoot.

In the interview, Jiah talked about her work as an actress and stated: “I love acting, and I think I’ll be lucky to have more projects in the future, but as of now I’m resting a little bit and focusing on music instead.” In 2020, Jiah released four OSTs for varying dramas, Portal singles and had a solo debut with her first solo full album Dear Me in July. When asked about her plans as a singer, she responded, “I can’t say much at the moment, but fans can expect a cooler and fun side of my work soon. I’m working hard to deliver good content for fans who have been waiting for so long.”

BEE’s Jiah has dropped her first full-length solo album! Jiah released a collaboration with Decipher’s Taejin in May, but she’s now made her official solo debut, becoming the first member of BEE to do so since their debut ten years ago.

Jiah’s debut solo album, Dear Me, sits comfortably within a selection of R&B-tinged tracks and ballads that highlight Jiah’s sweet vocals across twelve different tracks for a defining but diverse first offering from the lead vocalist’s first solo effort. The album includes features from Unity’s Jaewon on “Easy” and Knight’s Taeyong on “So It Ends?”. A number of popular idols appear in the writing credits of the album as well: Fuse’s Suji as the lyricist for “Rose” and “Skyline” as well as the composer for the latter, Silhouette’s Youngjoo as the composer of “Doobling (Knock Sir)”, “So It Ends?” and “True Lies”, Unity’s Jaewon as a partial lyricist on “Easy” with Knight’s Taeyong who also served as one of the composers and producers on the song and also has various credits on “So It Ends?”, “The Light” and “Starlight”.

The album’s promoted single is “Rose”, which also happens to be the first track on the album. “Rose” is a soulful song warning a lover to stay away to avoid the thorns of Jiah’s deceptively beautiful love. The song will be promoted solo for three weeks on music shows, and b-side track “Easy” will be staged solo for the first week of music show promotions.

BEE’s Jiah cast in upcoming tvN drama It’s Okay To Not Be Okay

It was confirmed by a BC Entertainment representative that member of the senior group BEE Jiah will be the lead of tvN’s upcoming drama It’s Okay To Not Be Okay. The singer will play Ko Moonyoung, an eccentric and successful children’s book author with antisocial personality disorder who had never known what love feels like. The series tells an unusual romance story between two people who end up healing each other’s emotional and psychological wounds.

This is Jiah’s first acting project after the airing of the successful drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon that aired in March, and it’s also her second time working as the lead. The idol also had a successful solo debut in July with the full album Dear Me and last month she released the song “Anymore”.

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay started filming in November and will air in late January, both on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:00 KST and on Netflix.

Cosmetics brand A'PIEU Cosmetics has announced that BEE member Jiah has been chosen as the new face of their brand. A'PIEU is a brand focused on pure and affordable beauty products. 

Jiah recently finished promotions for her solo debut with her first album Dear Me and the single “Rose”, and starred in the drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon earlier this year. This is Jiah’s first solo brand ambassador deal since BEE’s 2010 debut.

As the new face of the brand, pictures have also been released from Jiah’s sponsored inside spread from volume 201 of 1st Look magazine, where she models looks using the brand’s products.

Girl group lead vocal revealed on King of Mask Singer

On the most recent episode of King of Mask Singer, the identity of Brachiosaurus was revealed to be BEE’s lead vocal, Jiah!

Jiah won her battle round in the competition last week by an audience vote of 64-35 performing Solid’s “My Only Friend”. She then returned this week to perform a solo rendition of “Come Back Home” in the second round and won by a vote of 74-25, successfully passing to the third round where she performed “Perhaps That Was Love”. She won yet again by a vote of 55-44, but ultimately lost against the reigning king 27-77, failing to secure a win but making her mark as the first BEE member to appear on the program.

Jiah recently finished starring in the tvN drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and released her first BC Portal collaboration single “Rain” in May.
